| I talked with the sales lady and she said that I could take both of them home and return them to get what I wanted....kind of a test run. I was waffling about which one to get and missed my windows last weekend, but I pretty much decided to go with the Wustholl Ikon.

| I love my Henkels 5 star. They have lasted 10 years and I am not good at caring for them. They take abuse and I have never sharpened them.

| I have a Henckel knife that's over 25 years old and is still going strong. I always cringed when I went to my mom's home and would have to chop, slice, or dice. Good knives make all the difference. Can you try out the knives at Sur la Table? Sometimes one knife will work better for one person than for another person. I'm planning on getting each of my kids a good chef's knife as a housewarming present when they move out. And teaching them how to use it, too!

| I have Pampered Chef forged cutlery and absolutely love them! Of course I'm biased because I sell them but I couldn't be happier with them. much better then their cheaper self sharpening knives.

| I have those RonCo knives...the ones on TV that can supposedly cut through cinder blocks. I don't know about that, but they work wonderfully.

My and my BF both have Henkels. I LOVE them!! We had crappy knives before my ex gave them to me for Christmas one year. Yep! I took them with me! I have a Chicago Cutlery Santoku knife, too. Those ROCK!
I do agree that Wustuf and Henkel are both top brands, but I think Henkel are a little less expensive, but not lower in quality.

| Thanks for the feedback.... I just found out about a store called Sur La Table that's at our local mall. All kinds of cool stuff... I think I am leaning towards the Wusthoff Ikon series... I think I am going to pull the trigger this weekend. I bought 8" chefs knives of the Wusthoff's and they are both sooooo nice. Beats my previous set from target.

| I got a set of Henckels as a housewarming present, and I am so happy with them! More affordable than the other brands, and such high quality. I never realized that slicing was so easy. [...?]

| I need new knives badly mine are so old! Let us know what you decide!

| I ordered Chicago Cutlery from online and am totally satisfied. Do some "reviews" online and see... most people agreed that those names didn't give more quality for 6x the price of Chicago. You'll be surprised at the reviews!! Try amazon and then check their reviews of the product

| No clue what is better but I wanted to tell you I am jealous. I want new knives so bad. I went to a kitchen store last August in San Francisco and saw the wonderful knife sets in a locked case and I drooled over them. Let us know what you end up getting.

| I've been thinking about getting a new set of knives. I have narrowed it down to Wusthoff Classic, Wusthoff Ikon, or Henkel 5 Star. Anyone here have any of the above? I think I am leaning towards the Wusthoff classic but would sure appreciate any input if anyone has or has used any of the above on a regular basis. Thanks.
