| Glad to help out with the water they have so many flavors to choose from i get the sugarfree it only has 5 calories a serving
| I see no reason why it could not count towards 8 cups of water--just make sure you account for the calories in your daily calorie count!

| Where do you get True Lemon?

| you can drink half of your water with crystal light i get the sugar free on the go packets for work

| I use crystal light occasionally. The one thing I can't go to work without is True Lemon. It's dehydrated lemon that I can add to my water like crystal light. It's natural lemon and makes my water taste like I've been floating lemon slices in my water.

| I wondered the same thing about the water. I hate drinking 8 glasses a day!
| yeah, i was wondering if things like crystal lite or propel flavor packets when added to water or crystal lite type products in general could be used to count towards the '8 cups/day' of water. i really like using the flavor packets b/c its a twist on plain ole water.

| I never thought of some of these things, I will give them a try.

| I hate plain water too, especially because we have hard water so it has a funky taste to it. Since I don't like to have a lot of nutrisweet, I usually add some oranges, lemons, limes or cucumbers to my ice water. Adds a little bit of flavor, doesn't add unneeded stuff and gives me a little more vitamin C. LOL

taking about I used to love crystal light, until I saw the add for something really amazing on Opera magazine. its call Twist Tube from nutrilite brand. I don't know if you guys know about this. buts its amazing way better than crystal, has more benefits and taste better.
I managed to find someone at work who supplies those as well. this is his website, if you want to take a peek. search for simply nutrilite.

| If your body is not used to getting water, it will store it as reserves. But once you continue to give it water, it will start to release what it is storing and won't continue to store it. You may want to take a look at Water is a Secret Ingredient for more info.

| Thanks about the crystal light advice. I do not like water plain, but I love it with the lemon crystal light. However when I weigh after drinking so much water the next day, I always weigh more. Why is that, does anyone know? I am afraid to drink to much water because of this.

Basically, your body can extract and use the water from anything that has water in it (including solid foods) to meet your water needs. So, the question is not really whether something other than plain water "counts" as water, but rather, whether the other stuff that comes with it makes it a good choice for your needs and goals.
Some beverages, such as those with high caffeine or alcohol content (both diuretics), may also increase the amount of water your body eliminates without using, so that needs to be taken into account. Some beverages provide "empty" calories (added sugar) that need to be counted, and some provided needed nutrients. Others such as Crystal Lite use artificial sweeteners to provide flavor without calories, which appears to be safe in moderation, but could potentially cause problems if used excessively.
Here's an article from our SP Dietitian, Becky, with more info:
Healthy Beverage Guidelines.
Hope this helps.
