What I've done is I take my fresh fruit and premeasure it in snack sized ziplock bags and freeze them immediately. Then when I want it I just pop the fruit into my blender with some orange juice. (No dairy for me. :( )

I thought I read somewhere that once fruit is peeled or chopped that it has to be used immediately to benefit from all the nutrition in them.

I find that I can keep smoothies overnight in the fridge, and they taste just fine. I also make green smoothies ( www.micronutrientgourmet.com/?p=34 ) because they're more nutritious...and if they keep overnight in the fridge, then ones made of just fruit or fruit and yogurt should do just fine too!

And the vitamins aren't there anymore! It's always better to make them just before drinking them. Maybe you can prepare the ingredients the night before, like measuring the fruits, milk, yogurt you put in. The next day, it takes 2 minutes to make...

They're never quite as good if they stay in the fridge a while-even after remixing.

It will keep but it will separate so you'd either have to blend it quickly again or store it in a container with a top that you can give a good shake to mix. And don't use ice as obviously the ice will melt and it will be watery.

does anyone know if i make a smoothie ahead of time that it will keep overnight in the fridge, i have never made them that is why i am asking,
