true but the menu isn't for her. It's for all the other people that will be in my house while I'm attending the birth

beans and legumes might be too much for the new mommy. ...just a thought.

sounds like you have a lot on your plate (no pun intended)

yes, i am really southern. i was going to recommend a pot of red beans (native new orleanian), but that doesn't always translate to other locales.

seriously, try some store bought marinades. you can season in one step, then cook and freeze. a great time saver.

Yeah I was thinking along those lines (you MUST be sutheren lol)

It seems so simple ... but we just moved. My house is 3/4 unpacked..totally unorganized; I work 9 hours a day and have all these kids PLUS I gotta plan for this birth--her due date was yesterday LOL

how about one pot meals, like chili or spaghetti sauce? or maybe some grilled meats, like chicken tenders or pork chops? those freeze well. I like to marinate chicken tenders in lemon pepper marinade (store bought) then i grill them. you can freeze in ziploc bags, then defrost and serve with something fast, like baked potatoes cooked in the microwave.

good luck with the birth!

My brain is SO drawing a blank...

Daughter will be having baby in next week or so.. I'm looking for ideas for what to have ready for her homebirth. Ok ....fruits, nuts, peanut butter.. yep quick-pops for the laboring woman. But bear in mind that II must feed the midwife, photographer and my two younger ones WHILE still being Lee Anne's birth coach.. so I wanna pre-cook foods for a couple of days at least (never know the length of a labor!)

So I'm getting some sisters from the congregation to come over and have a cooking day.. any ideas for what to cook and freeze?

Oh forgot to mention.. it's home birth. Not use to having to mention that.. everyone in my life is a home birther LOL
