| Smart balance makes a "shortening" which works better than the table "butter" for baking
|

|
| We didn't like it. We use Fleischman's olive oil spread... yummy!

| We use Smart Balance at our house, too. My husband likes it on his popcorn. We also use it on veggies and for grilled sandwiches. I like to cook/bake with it. I made chocolate chip cookies (Spark recipe) with is last weekend and they were yummy. The cookie texture is not quite authentic (as with the transfat filled shortening) but it's close. Also, it's not as bad as cooking with those evil transfats!

I'll take a look for the butter blend next time I go shopping. Thanks for the tip!

| I like it too, it doesn't melt to water!

| I have been using Smart Balance for awhile now, and we love it. I also just discovered Smart Balance Butter Blend, and it is GREAT! Still has the same amount of fat of course, but instead of the margarine, this isn't watery and makes things like grill cheese sandwiches crispy instead of soggy. Great flavor as well.

We use it for most things..toast, veggies. I've discovered it's 'way too watery to cook with, and for popcorn (though my DH likes it there, I stick to a bit of real butter )
