| I'm not sure why my first post didn't show up, but here's my second attempt. I TRY to eat mostly fresh fruits and veggies. I even try to buy organic, but I'm cheap so I don't always do it. I did buy a couple of organic apples the other day and they were delicious. They seemed to taste better than the non-organic apples. Not sure if it's all in my head or if they really DO taste better!!

| I eat alot of veggies and try to stick to whole grains such as brown rice and whole-wheat pasta once in a while.

| I eat a lot of fresh raw fruits and veggies and avoid as much processed stuff as I can. Except for really good chocolate...

Loscuates, it IS eating healthy with a bit of a commitment to avoiding processed foods (the inside isles of the grocery)
It's not that you HAVE to eliminate it all, but you really make an effort to read labels and lose the ingredients you can't understand.
Eat God given food, not stuff that's made in a factory :)
You actually do start eating well..feeling and looking well. It can help you get over a plateau!

In regards to bread not being a "clean" eating choice, you can purchase Ezekiel bread. It's in the frozen food section. It usually contains Spelt which is the original form of wheat. So it is not processed. Any "sprouted" bread is considered to be "clean".

| I understand it as not eating anything processed. That is why clean eating is hard. Everything these days is processed. I would just stick to organics as much as possible. I have noticed that when making breads using whole wheat organic flower the bread tends to be heavier. I guess that is why they say to use half whole wheat and half white flour--which is processed.

| I thought that clean eating was just another way of saying healthy eating!

| I try to do this as much as possible and if I do not eat "clean," I eat organic and all natural.

I may be off on this but my understanding is that it's eating unprocessed foods and sticking to lean cuts of meats (primarily fish and chicken), fruits and veggies, and whole grains to make up your diet, but mainly lots of fruits and veggies. No sugar or sugar substitures, or foods that are too many "steps" away from the natural product - so bread would be out because flour is processed, along with the other ingredients that make bread up.
To the original poster - you don't have to use the meal plan. I don't. I enter my own foods as I eat primarily fruits and veggies and lean meats with most of my carbs coming from fruits and veggies, with some whole grains. I don't eat a lot of dairy or eggs or breads and pastas (ok, pasta every so often). As long as you're staying in the ranges suggested you can make your own plan. And it's helpful to hit the button at the bottom under the ranges that shows you the pie chart so you can see if you're in balance with what SP recommends.
