I have an egg cooker I bought from Chefs.com a few years ago, got it on sale for around $12 and it cooks 6 at a time, I like it because it takes the guesswork out of it.

After I boil them and they are cool, I also write the date on the shell in pencil; then I know when to throw them out if they haven't been used.

Well not exactly boil but you can hard-cook them. eggs in the shell have a tendency to explode in the microwave so you have to be careful. Check the link below for a method to cook them in the microwave. Trouble is... to me it looks like more work than putting them on the stove !
