I actually weigh it after I cook it. A lot of juices and fats come off of the meats and when I'm cooking frozen shrimp, for example, it weighs more (because it's frozen) before I cook it. I could be wrong, but that's how I do it!

I believe you want to weigh your food before you cook it. I struggled with gestational diabetes while I was pregnant with my first child. The nutrition expert that met with me to help keep my blood sugar level in a normal range, suggested weighing all my food before cooking. I hope this helps!

Hi, I'm new to the site and I have a question about weighing my food. Am I suppose to weigh my meat before or after I cook it? I remember my dietician telling me that a proper serving of meat was the size of a deck of cards but I can't remember whether she said cooked or uncooked.
