Hi,
There is regular hard red wholewheat, and hard white wholewheat (golden 86 wheat).
From http://waltonfeed.com/self/wheat2.html "The two main types of hard wheat are the hard red and the hard white varieties. Hard white wheat is a relative new-comer that tends to produce a lighter colored, more spongy loaf of bread and because of this, it is gaining quick popularity among home bread makers." "Golden 86 Wheat is some type of a cross between Hard Red Spring Wheat and a soft White Spring Wheat."
I've seen weight watchers bread at my grocers. It is half the calories but it is also half the size of a regular wholegrain loaf, and twice the price of a regular wholegrain loaf.

Hey, thanks! That is what I assumed. The person I live with hates wheat bread and tried to get me to switch to the "white wheat" but I found I missed the 100% whole grain taste. So, guess we are buying 2 loaves of bread from now on! Ha ha!

| Hi, all. I was in Great Harvest the other day and the owner told me there is no way white wheat is any kind of whole grain, because whole grains are yellow or darker.....so, if you like the taste, great....but if you want whole grain (and I lose weight sooooo much faster when I cut refined sugars and flours) then you're missing the mark.

| Does the "white wheat bread" have as much daily fiber as regular 100% wheat bread? That is my only concern. I recently tried it though, and it is a life saver for those who dislike the taste of wheat! Great recommendation!

| I've been using their "double fiber" bread. It's wonderful and has 5 g fiber and only 40 cals a slice!!

| Natures Own white wheat is a great alternative to regular bread it taste just as good and is much better for you. If you are on weight watchers it is only 1 point for 2 slices when regular bread is 1 point per slice its a great points saver if you love to eat bread with everything like I do. Don't get the kind that say sandwich get the kind that just says white wheat, I hope this helps someone with bread problems it really helped me !
