I think baking this in a 9 x 13 inch pan is a great idea! It never came out well for me in a tube pan.

Definitely a recipe to consider for the holiday coming up in July!

Not sure if this holds true with the mixes, but real angel food cake is naturally fat free. It is mostly egg whites, so I can't see this as having transfat

Thanks Sue.. ..I don't know about the transfats. I guess you would have to look on the cake box. It is low calorie so ... better than a pound cake & whipped cream ...right ? lol

Do you worry about transfats in the angelfood cake mix, or have you found one that doesn't use hydrogenated oils? I love angel food cake! But I do worry about all the bad things they say about transfats.

This is a recipe that I have just tried a week ago. It's good & low calorie. EASY too.
1 box of Betty Crocker Angelfood Cake Mix
1 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple (in own juice)
Empty the contents of the cake mix in mixer.
Pour the 20 oz can of pineapple & the juice in the mixer.
Stir for 1 minute .
Pour into an ungreased 9x13 pan, bake at 325F for 35 minutes.
When cooled , before serving , top with fat- free Cool Whip.
Serves :24
