| i have always loved the dressing or the plain, but you have to be careful if you are pregnant (recently found that out) cuz it can cause contractions. now that i have had my baby, my salad does not go without paul.

| Oddly enough, my husband accidentally bought Ken's just yesterday and I was about to try it. *lol* Thanks for letting me know what to expect. Even if I don't like it, I'll try it as a chicken marinade.

i've like newman's lowfat balsamic vin. which is a little spicy. it makes a great marinade for chicken! i also like ken's steakhouse light balsamic vin. it is sweeter. both are about 50 cals, but i usually only use one tablespoon instead of the 2 (serving.)

I've tried the balsamic on strawberries, and it's really good. Great on ice cream too, not that I eat much ice cream anymore, LOL!
I make most of my own salad dressing, too. Lots of viegars are in my pantry (balsamic, red wine, white wine, cider, sherry, rice) and I always add a bit of dijon mustard, then whatever seasonings match the rest of what I'm having for dinner.

I haven't tried it, but some recipes I've seen suggest putting balsamic vinegar (not a vinaigrette salad dressing) on strawberries! So I guess it is a bit sweet.
I make my own salad dressing using the Good Seasons bottle and instead of adding their pouch of salty spices, I just add a Tbsp of honey mustard to balsamic vinegar, water and olive oil. Really easy, costs less, and no funky chemicals.

| It is excellent, and there are only 45 calories per serving. Until I found it, I didn't eat salad. Now, I pretty much eat a salad a day!

| Newmans must add some other ingredients to make it peppery. Sounds good, though. I may have to try it.

| Really? The only kind I've ever really eaten is the Newman's Own Light Balsamic Vinaigrette salad dressing and it is really peppery, not sweet at all. Thanks for the info!

Balsamic vinegar is always sweet. It's that way naturally due to how it's made. 1 tablespoon has 10 calories, 2g carbs, 2g sugar.
Hope that helps!

| Im not sure about that but its odd because I went to Ryans and had a salad last night and also used it.I was thinking it was going to be more of a vinegar taste but it was very good and like you said,,sweet.

| I went to TGIF today and had the Strawberry Fields Salad with chicken. I'm trying to add it to my food tracker, but I'm not certain about the balsamic vinaigrette they use. It was very sweet and unlike any I've had before. Is it a type that I'm not used to, or that it was mixing with the glazed pecans, or what?
