That is very interesting, I never thought there would be regional foods that are more popular but that makes a lot of sense! Now I know to pay more attention when looking for reciopes. Thank you,

I am glad you could share it with your family! Yes I do have a few Garbanzo bean preparations.
They are called Channa or Chole (cho-lay)in India. Chole masala is very popular in north Indian state of Punjab.

| Oh my goodness! It's WONDERFUL! So rich and filling too. What a fabulous meal, that I will definitely make again. I love it! Do you have a garbanzo bean or other bean recipe that would be good with it? I love to cook and for the most part enjoy veggies primarily. And this was a hit with everyone in house! Thank you again! All the best, Marie

| I'm making this tonight! I love it, I usually buy Amy's Frozen but always thought about making it. This is so neat that you took the time to put it in here and share! I'll let you know if I find the Paneer, it's the only thing I'm worried about finding. I've seen the Garam Masala before. Thank you and I am hoping you will share some more of your favorites!

I wanted to share one of my very favorite Indian curry recipe with all of you. Its a easy make and gos really well with Indian bread/Naan or Rice Pilaf.
Serves 8 Ingredients: 1 packet Paneer (pressed Cottage cheese) You can get this in any of the Indian grocery stores. (approx $6 for 1lbs) 2 bunches of fresh spinach 1 onion diced 6-7 garlic cloves minced 4 green thai chilies (can vary according to your taste) 2 bay leaves 1 cinnamon stick 4 cloves 1 tsp cumin seeds 2 tbsp Garam Masala (You can find this in any Indian store) 1/4 cup half and half 6 tbsp oil Salt
1. Blanch the spinach in hot salted water for 3-4 mins. Dont let it change the color though. 2. Saute the onions, garlic, chilies in 1tbsp oil. 3. Grind the above mixture and spinach till it forms a smooth paste. You can strain it for better consistency. 4. Preheat oven to 350F. 5. Cut the paneer in bit size cubes. Arrange them on a cookie sheet in a single layer and spray them with cooking spray. 6.Cook them into the oven for about 7-8 mins. 7. In a pan heat the remaining oil. When its hot, add the cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon stick, cumin seeds. Fry for 1 min. 8. Add the spinach mixture and Garam masala. Let it cook for about 10-15 mins on medium flame. You will see the oil start to leave the sides of the pan. 9. Add Paneer to the spinach mixture. Add salt and pepper to taste. 10. Add milk/ half and half or cream. Simmer it for 5 minutes. 11. Serve with Basmati rice/pilaf or Naan.
Its Done!!! You have learned one of the most famous Indian Curry dishes!
