| Someone has already mentioned my fave, but I like my mac-n-cheese with peas and tuna. I also add salsa to mine sometimes. I recently found some much healthier options at the grocery store for mac-n-cheese. Instead of the normal Kraft one, I have found organic white cheddar ones, ones with whole wheat pasta, and ones with 2% cheese (powder?) used. They are much healthier than the regular kraft mac-n-cheese. Also, making your own mac-n-cheese at home is super easy. Just bring a couple cups of water to a boil, add a few handfuls of whole wheat elbow macaroni (or whatever noodle you like), stir, cover, turn off the heat and let sit for 15 minutes. While you're waiting, cube up some velveeta cheese (1 oz is a serving if I'm correct so add 1 oz per 1 cup of noodles) and any veggies/meat you're going to add. When the 15 minutes is up stir the pot, drain, add cheese/veggies and go. I find this to be much tastier and much healthier (if using the lower fat velveeta) than conventional Kraft.

My favorite is making mac n cheese and adding tuna, carrots and peas too it... throwing it in a casserole dish and crushing wheat crackers on top and baking it for about 20 minutes. it's pretty much the most cooking i do - ever.. haha
My ex used to LOVE mac n' cheese with spaghetti sauce, kinda got me addicted to it too. It's almost like chef boyardee for adults..

| I like peas and tuna with it. My all time favourite is adding salsa.

| I always add veggies to my mac & cheese. Plus, it's the best way for my 2-year old to eat veggies. I think mushrooms, broccoli, and spinach are great pairs for mac & cheese. I'm not a big pea fan.

Ok, before you judge, you have to try it!! Thank you for reminding me about it!! When I was a newlywed many many years ago, I used to make this for my kids and they LOVED IT!!! I still do!!!
velveeta mac and cheese
can of chicken or tuna
1 cup salsa
2 TBL soy sauce
Cook mac and then combine all ingredients..

| I like a can of tuna in mine (box mac & cheese). My dad used to like a can (cold from the fridge) of crushed whole Tomatoes after the mac & cheese was done. I am sure you can put anything in it. I have heard people chopping up hot dogs or pouring on tomato soup too. I am sure ham would also be good in it. I have added mixed veggies or leftovers.

I always add a bit of mustard to mac and cheese. I don't know why but it makes a real difference. That and the broccoli (DH hates broccoli in mac and cheese) I do, on occasion, add bacon too, not healthy but dang is it good!

| I like my mac'n'cheese with Taco Bell Mild sauce in it. Not a lot of calories from the sauce, but it gives it a different taste all together. I used to crumble potato chips on top but now I think I'll try the veggies--what a great way to get your veggies and not be bored! Thanks

| Kraft online has a lot of recipes for mac n cheese meals. Where they use a box of the good ol' blue box and add sauteed chicken and frozen veggies. Always a good idea to stretch portions and add veggies to things, especially things that are particularly fattening like mac 'n cheese.

| Sounds like a great idea will have to remember that I often only have about 15 minutes to grab a bite and this sounds really simple and quick

I purchased some microwave packages of kraft easy mac to take to school with me. It's okay, the calories for mine are 230 and 4 grams of fat. If you are watching sodium it might not be good it's 610 mg of sodium.
I decided I wanted to get more bang out of the meal since the portion of easy mac doesn't seem so big.
So I added veggies and it made a BIG difference. Last night before my last class I had it with peas for dinner, and when I went to my boyfriend's house after school I made him some and he added broccoli to it.
So adding veggies to easy mac or any macaroni and cheese will give you more bang for the portion and stretch it further, plus you will get a few servings of veggies depending on how much you add.
