| keep in mind that a marinade needs only to soak in for 15 to 20 minutes. any more than that is a waste of time with no extra flavor from what i hear. meats can only absorb so much

| low fat/fat free dressings make great marinades and i would guess it would be no more than a serving or so size soaked up by the meat.

| That makes sense. Thanks for the suggetion.

| I agree, either by weight if you have a good scale or volume using a measuring cup, figure out what you have used. Not sure which way would be easier.

I would guess you calculate all the calories in the marinade. You would have to measure what you discard so you can figure out what you are eating.
make sense ??

I like to make and use a lot of marinades when I cook but how do I count them? For instance I marinate my flank steak in...
1-2 cups of Teriyaki or soy sauce 1 can of crushed pineapple A few handfuls of brown sugar salt, pepper, onion salt, garlic powder and ginger
Obviously some of it is soaked up and a lot of it is discarded so how do I count it in my calories etc.?
