| I supplement the info in the Spark database with calorieking.com. Spark is pretty complete though. Also, you brought up using browned sausage...I assume you are browning the sausage to render out some of the fat. You are probably not going to be able to find a listing for sausage that is cooked and does not still include the fat in there - most databases I have found just do not go into that much detail. For more complicated recipes like that, I try to keep a buffer in mind that the nutritional value is not exact - in fact, it never is, really! I try not to stress about it, but figure that if I am being consistant with my judgements, I will end up ok in the end.

HI again, although the spark food items are quite extensive you are going to run into foods that are not listed, personally I either use the food closest to what I am looking for in the spark database or if I have the nutrition available for each individual food I enter it in my "foods not listed" and I add it to my recipe from there. It is a lot of work but once you've entered the food once it will be saved and you can just add it from your "favorites" from then on.
I've been a member of SP for quite some time and now I rarely come across foods that SP doesn't have or that I haven't already listed in my food groupings or my favorites, it took some time to put in all the foods I use are there but I found it well worth the effort to get accurate nutritional values.

Hi - I did find that, but it won't let me input the correct ingredients, example, pork sausage, it calls for 1 lb browned - I only get the option for links. Also, it called for different shreddred cheeses but they weren't listed! I'm not being pickie but I would like to get a more accurate account of the meal. sorry, it just seems like sometimes this takes a lot of time to list things. I really love this site and it IS getting me motivated to stick to a weight loss program. My exercise is still something I'm trying to work in. Flo

I would do one of two things:
1. you could put the ingredients into "food grouping" on your nutrition page and that would give you the overall nutrition values for the recipe or 2. I would go to my recipe box on sparkrecipes and input the foods and the number of servings to get the nutritional value, I would save it in my recipe box but not make it public

I fixed a recipe that does not list the nutrition, servings, etc. How do you combine the ingredients to know how many calories are in a serving. Hope I am making myself clear.
