As a retired proffesional Chef I can tell by ingredients and cooking tecnique if I want to try a recipe.I have a very good idea what it will taste like before I make it. That being said I can only imagine that some people want to be part of the forum and show participation but don't seem to understand how it looks to the person who worked to create a recipe thus earning a place on the recipe page and no one who has not made the recipe has a place on the forum. As those persons mature in the SparkPeople journey they will come to get it. I'd rather make a batch of muffins than get upset over it..lol...cookie

For a while points were given out for reviewing a recipe daily so I think that some took advantage and just - rated recipes as "sounding good" or "not being healthy enough" without trying them.
Now that that option has been removed, I can't imagine why people would do that. It is frustrating as a cook to go in to check a recipe rated well only to discover that half the reviews are from people who haven't even tried the recipe!!

| I don't know why people do that. It just doesn't make sense.

| Why do people rate recipes before they try it? They will give it 4 stars and then write "sounds good, I'm gonna try it". Doesnt that defeat the purpose of it?
