Which instructions are you referring to? Which page is that listed on? Any recipes you add/submit will automatically be listed in your recipe box. We have one person that adds editor's choices and that is a small aspect of her job, but she does periodically add more. Some of the criteria for Editor's Choice includes: rated highly, healthy, and a good fit for the Spark recipes site.
About the duplicates, some people add the same recipe several times for whatever reason so it is duplicated in the system. If we see those or they are reported, all but one would be deleted. Also, when you submit a recipe, you are asked to not add common recipes or other recipes that are already in the shared database so there are not duplicates that way. If there are recipes like that, they may be removed from the shared database, but they would remain in the author's recipe box.

The instructions tell you that if it's disapproved it's put in your files..mine ended up in there immediately. so thats my concern. How long does it take to become an editor's choice and are there guidelines that you go by to have them become an editors choice? I know you get a ton of them, but it would be nice to know if it has. I see each time too, when I list something, that others with similar titles come up..they aren't the same is this what you consider a duplicate? Sorry for so many questions. I guess there at least two of us that would like to know..probably more!
Would you tell us if there was something amiss in the recipe?

We don't disapprove recipes right away unless they have been reported to us. All recipes that are submitted to the shared database automatically, it just may not be made an editor's choice, but it will go into the shared database. If a recipe is reported and is disapproved, some of those reasons include duplicates, incorrect info in the recipe, no ingredient list, no directions, etc.

| i would also like to know why. for exampoe, we have at least 6 diet soda and cake mix recipes which are almost exactly the same. why do we need all of them ?

How does a recipe become disapproved the minute it's submitted? Wouldn't someone have to look at it first? I would like to know why they are disapproved, what are the rules for good recipes?
