Definitely try using the url for the recipe. Even when they are not shared, they get their own url. I was able to use the url a few months back when my husband entered a recipe but didn't want to share it with everyone. So I told him to send me an email with the url and that worked for me. So I hope it works for you.

Denise: I'm having a terrible time with this. There are now two accounts in our family, one for me (ChristineDC) and one for my husband (KevinDC). I am doing all the tracking for both.
So for example, last night I created a recipe for bulgur and eggplant salad. I saved it and entered it in my own tracker. Then I logged out, logged in as KevinDC, and tried to access the recipe via the search box. It came up empty every time. Frustrating!
I will try what you suggest. I really don't want my shortcut recipes to be public. If I can get to them for Kevin without sharing, I will do so.

If you don't have a recipe shared in the shared database, you can still give the url for the recipe to another person and they should be able to access it. By doing that, you don't have to add it to the shared database, but the other person can still see it and save it to their meal planner.

| As Xanadu pointed out, the only choices are shared or not shared, husband or no husband. And if recipes are shared, they are public--that is, shared with all.

| There's an option to "Import from other members" (in the add a food popup in the buttons on the right that includes "Add a food not listed") that might let your husband's account import recipes from your account without sharing, but I've never tried it.

The only choices are shared or not shared. There are several choices, fix them, don't fix them or son't share and reenter them for your husband.

I just changed all my recipes to "shared," because I'm tracking for my huband now as well as myself. Some of them are very rudimentary, since I entered them just for myself and didn't spend time on details. I can fix this, but it will be a big job.
I'm assuming that there is not alternative to sharing.
