| This sounds like my grandson, he is 1 year old and allergic to everything. If he eats wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, glutten, I don't remember everything he can't have but he gets a rash all over with dry rough feeling skin. Some things affect his breathing, it's awfull. I agree doctors don't seem to help much.

| I use to get the same sounding thing. The doctors sent me to dermatologists and allergists, who only shoved lots of drugs and cortisone creams on me that made me feel like a zombie. I hate to be so down on the medical profession but they have never provided me whith many answers as to why things occured. I saw a Naturopathic Doctor, who actually spent time listening to my issues and we were able to figure out what was causing the problem. For me, it was a combination of outright food allergy to sesame seeds (which surprisingly are in everything), and multiple food sensitivities (which means I can eat a particular food, just as long as I follow a rotation diet and don't eat it every day in a row). Perfumes and fragrances in many cleaning products and body products (make-up, shampoo, some deodorants, air-fresheners, etc.) all caused a return of symptoms. Switching over to a more natural diet, less dairy and no wheat made a huge difference for me too. Of course, every person is different and what worked for me may not work for you. Good luck finding a solution.

| I get that mostly in the summer. I have been told by my dermatologist I am allergic to both UVA and UVB rays. Here I am a sun worshipper and can't go in the sun or I break out. Have a dermatologist look at it. At least you would know what is going on.

| For temporary relief, try Zyrtec. It is now available without a prescription, and there is one or maybe two generics on the market for it. Even the generics are a little expensive, but it'll give you 24 hour relief with minimal if any side effects. I have problems with itchy skin and can't figure out why (and my insurance won't pay for an allergy scratch test!) so I use zyrtec on my bad days when will power alone can't best the craze. I don't have any side effects at all from it, though I know minor ones are not uncommon for others.

| Check with a dermatologist... and until then switch to dye free and scent free detergents and bath products. All 3 of my children have eczema but yours sounds more like psoriasis (sp?) I also bathe the kids with Aveeno oatmeal bath sometimes and cover them with lotion a couple times a day and we have prescription creams for the really red itchy spots. Benadryl also helps when it's really itchy.

My daughter had something similair. She does have eczema, but at a routine check up the dr. said it was something separate. I can't remember exactly what she called it, but I do remember she said if the blisters pop or she breaks them by scratching it will spread (which it did a little), so use hydrocortisone if it was itchy. She said they would go away by themselves in a year or so, which they did.
But if your having severe itching or it's widespread, I would check with a dermatologist, as well as a regular dr.

| Track when you get them. It might also be tied to hormone levels or stress. Have your list in hand when you see the dr.

It does sound like ezcema to me too. I've had it since I was a kid. And it comes out in lots of different ways, blisters, dry skin, odd bumpy rashes...pain in the neck. Don't know if you have it over there but I use a cream called aquaeous cream on a daily basis. It's water based and helps replace lost moisture. If I'm having a particularly bad outbreak I use a cream called cortopin, which is the strongest you can get over the counter here.
It's important to remember that ezcema is actually a sympton of an allergy. Try changing one thing at a time to figure out what. For me it's a certain washing powder. My brother has had it all his life too, but much more extreme and as a kid he couldn't have eggs or dairy products (although I'm not sure if that stuff kicked off his asthma or ezcema) and he still can't use shower gels, soaps or shampoos. He uses that Aqueous cream as a shower gel and shampoo instead. His bad outbreaks get so bad that he needs steroid creams to heal the skin.
Either way...see your doctor. I know they can be dismissive, but try to make the appointment when you have a breakout.
Oh...over the counter antihistamines (like for hayfever) help with itching.

Google Emily Skin Soothers. After a month it goes away but you have to put it on your hands and feet every night before you go to bed and put socks on your hands to keep the stuff from rubbing off your sheets. It was developed for baby ezcema but it works for adults too.
I too would pop the bumps on my feet and it did make the itch go away and clear up faster. The eczema on my hands is from paper absorbing the oils off my hands and making them dry. (I'm a paper pusher!)
I don't get it as much anymore. When I do I just get the Emily's out. one jar lasts about a month.

that is so weird that it would be ezcema. my younger brother had/has it and i remember it as being SUPER dry skin on his feet. so bad that he had to wrap his feet in vasaline and saran wrap and the skin would literally peel off in 1" chunks. i did some research on the internet and some things came up like i might have a sensitivity to iodine and i should try to be "gluten free" (whatever that means). the thing is, i dont have dry skin anywhere on my body (until i scratch the little bumps on my hands and feet ..somehow my knuckles dry out) and my arms and back and even my head itch like crazy with absolutley no rash.
my bf thought it might be due to cow product allergies because he read somewhere that people who suffer/suffered from tonsalitis (sp?) and ear aches have a sensitivity to cow products and will get itchy skin. that might make sense because i have had both my tonsils removed and a tube put in my ear and atleast once or twice a year get ear infections (i went to the doctor and he told me that it is really rare for an adult to get ear infections) i have never really had alot of cow products in my life because my mom cannot have milk or any dairy for that matter...so it was never really around the house.
i kind of dont want to play around, but at the same time i dont really trust doctors and their diagnosis's.
if it is ezcema, is there anything i can do for it??

| I get the same thing and the doctor has said it is ezcema. Sometimes it is bad and other times I have no symptoms. OTC creams like Cortaid can help heal it very quickly. Just be sure to see your doctor because if you use steriod creams for too long it will no longer have the same affect.

I had this for YEARS. the little painful blisters that would get hard then weep and crack and ITCH. it was nasty and back then the dr just said it was dishpan hands, and ignored me.
I later (much later found it is called Bullous pemphigoid, and it may be an autoimmune condition.
Ironically what made mine go away was that I got a nasty case of blood poisening in my hands, had to go to the ER, and within days the infected blisters were gone and seldom come back.. maybe a few a year, usually when I'm under a lot of stress.

| As well as internet searching eczema, you could try looking at Urticaria, it's an allergic reaction that results in blister like bumps...

Sounds like eczema.
I get it on my hands a few times a year, it's super itchy, and I just pop the blisters to make it go away faster. The little blisters usually appear on hands or feet, where as the flaky skin appears on the other parts of the body (I believe).
You may have an allergy to something, but it does sort of sound like eczema. The insane itchiness and the little blisters with clear liquid on the hands--really sounds like eczema.

I've never had that happen, or heard of it happening to anyone else.
Have you had an allergy test? Maybe you are allergic to the soap or lotion or something you use? Even laundry detergent?
I really have no idea, just trying to give suggestions.
You should see your doctor though, whether there is a rash or not. Hopefully he'll listen to you.

| i dont know why, but for some reason, for the past 2 years i have had really itchy skin. it will start out as bumps on my hands as toes and the bumps are filled with a clear liquid. they are really small bumps, not like mosquito sized but more like pin prick size. sometimes (like today for example) i will have EXTREMELY itchy skin, but no rash...just the itch. im worried about going to the doctor just because i dont want to sound like a looney telling him that i have itchy skin and then when he goes an looks at it, there is no rash. has this happened to anyone before???
