  • How do I track my food?
To track your food using the Search feature (using the Android App):
  1. On the Home screen, tap +Food (OR tap the + icon in bottom right corner and select Food).
  2. Tap to the right of the magnifying glass (near the top of the screen) and enter the item you would like to add to your tracker and tap the magnifying glass icon in the bottom right of the screen to do a search.
  3. The search results will now show on your screen and you can scroll down the list to find your item.
  4. Once you find the item, tap on it.
  5. Select the meal category you want to track it under (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, etc.).
  6. Enter the amount that you want to track.
    Note: If there is more than one serving option (ounces, grams, etc.), you can tap the serving option and select a different serving option from the list. If only one serving option is listed when you tap it, then there aren't any other serving options for that particular food.
  7. If you would like to add it to your Favorites list, slide the word "No" to the right so it will say "Yes."
  8. Tap the button to "Save Food & Search Again" if you want to search for more food OR tap the checkmark in the upper right corner to add it to your tracker.


To track your food using the Search feature (using the iPhone App):
  1. Tap the SparkPeople logo on the bottom center of the screen.
  2. Tap the Food icon on the left side of the screen.
  3. Tap to the right of the magnifying glass (near the top of the screen) and enter the item you would like to add to your tracker and tap the magnifying glass icon in the bottom right of the screen to do a search.
  4. The search results will now show on your screen and you can scroll down the list to find your item.
  5. Once you find the item, tap on it.
  6. Select the meal category you want to track it under (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, etc.).
  7. Enter the amount that you want to track.
    Note: If there is more than one serving option (ounces, grams, etc.), you can tap the serving option and select a different serving option from the list. If only one serving option is listed when you tap it, then there aren't any other serving options for that particular food.
  8. If you would like to add it to your Favorites list, slide the word "No" to the right so it will say "Yes."
  9. Tap the button to "Save Food & Search Again" if you want to search for more food OR tap the checkmark in the upper right corner to add it to your tracker.


To track your food using Favorites, Groups, or Recipes (using the Android App):
  1. On the Home screen, tap +Food (OR tap the + icon in the bottom right corner and select Food).
  2. Tap the Favorites tab, the Groups tab, or the Recipes tab at the top of the screen.
  3. You can scroll through your list of Favorites, Groups, and Recipes OR you can search your list. To search your list of Favorites, Groups, or Recipes, tap to the right of the magnifying glass (near the top of the screen) and enter the item you are looking for. As you type, your list will narrow down to what you have entered.
  4. Tap the item you want to track.
  5. Select the meal category you want to track it under (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, etc.).
  6. Enter the amount that you want to track.
