I got 7 out of 10 correct on the plastics quiz.
Everyone needs to learn more about plastics.
I do not put plastic, no matter what the number, in the microwave or dishwasher. I have been purchasing glass storage containers. Still use plastic reusable containers for my lunch and a reusable waterbottle but I wash them by hand. - 11/2/2010   3:10:53 PM

I read that in a world wide survery, MADONNA and Arnold S. were the two most widely recognized people, so I'm sure she will make money off of her Gyms. She does look good for being over 50. - 11/1/2010   5:54:14 PM

I loved the Madonna story! The idea of having a posh gym centered on the gym-goers experience sounds fantastic. I spend a lot of time at my gym and would SO appreciate an upgraded experience. - 11/1/2010   4:56:10 PM

Moving Unhealthy Foods rather than banning it was a very good article - hope our school system is listening! - 11/1/2010   2:26:39 PM

I always wanted to make tamales - I'm going to try this one. - it is not as time consuming as many tamale recipes I have looked at and the added benefit of less fat encourage me to go ahead. - 11/1/2010   11:48:01 AM

Bootcamp, strength training will top 2011 fitness trends. I hope so it would be nice to hear or read that Americans are getting more into fitness and the obesity level is dropping on the tv news or in the paper. - 10/31/2010   9:43:56 PM

The recipes for Mexican brown rice casserole and tamales....sounds like a great meal to cook for Christmas eve---or maybe before (just to practice makiing the tamales!) - 10/31/2010   4:51:48 PM

"Left side sleeping helps heartburn"----I agree, sleeping on the left side helps me alot. My DH refuses to sleep with the head of the bed up on bricks or blocks. Also changing diet and not eating within 2 hrs of bedtime help me. - 10/31/2010   4:01:27 PM

Heartburn - Left Side Sleeping Enigma: The answer would seem to be quite clear and I'm surprised the socalled researchers did not focus upon it. I'm willing to bet that those who found relief in sleeping on the left side were individuals who normally sleep on the right side. Relief was probably created by moving the stomach acids to the lesser used side of the stomach where the stomach lining had not previously been suscepted to greater irritation. Sometimes the answer is so logical and easy as to be overlooked? - 10/31/2010   1:24:15 PM

Plastics & the recipes, esp. the pumpkin!
I have to admit that I'm dismayed at the whole "Bootcamp" trend. I prefer a more positive, encouraging method. Whatever works, I guess. - 10/31/2010   12:44:05 PM

I like the idea of repositioning foods in the school cafeterias. We use the same strategy for the unhealthier choices in our home. We keep them in the back and on the top of the cupboards where a bit more time might save you a lot more calories than you need. - 10/31/2010   11:15:14 AM

My OB told me 40 yrs ago about sleeping on your left side...he said it was because of where the openings (to travel in/out) of the digestive systems are. Hey, it works for me!! - 10/31/2010   11:01:40 AM

I love the idea of Madonna opening up her own gym. More and more people are using the gym as an alternative to clubs to hang out, although personally I would probably be intimidated if my body wasn't perfect. - 10/31/2010   9:49:34 AM
