Everyone at SparkPeople has been eager to share some big news for months now, but we had to wait until the time was right. That time has finally come!

For the last several months, we've been working closely with the writers and editors at All You magazine. We love All You for many reasons: it's low price, it's realistic portrayal of real women with real bodies, its great tips and advice. So we were beyond thrilled to contribute to the magazine to help create a special "SparkPeople" health and fitness issue, which is on newsstands (sold exclusively at Walmart stores) today!

This is a major breakthrough for the SparkPeople brand—a great opportunity for us to showcase the amazing weight-loss stories of several members, share our workouts, recipes and advice in a new format, and Spread the Spark to even more people. And the photos! I have one word to summarize the food, the exercises and the before and after shots of our members: Breathtaking!

You can find this issue at Walmart starting today, but here's a sneak peek of what—and who—you'll find inside (plus an offer to get this special issue for FREE!).

A few highlights and special people you'll find inside All You's Winter 2011 Health and Fitness issue:
  • Weight-loss success stories (and strategies) of 5 SparkPeople members: LORIELP, PRINCESSNURSE, SMARTLADY66, SP_COACH_NANCY, and TONIABLAKE
  • 10 deliciously simple recipes from our very own Chef Meg
  • A seasonal slimdown story "Get Thinner This Winter" designed by SparkPeople's Dietitian Becky and featuring a 10-week meal plan to help you drop 10 pounds
  • "Hone your mental fitness," with motivation and emotional weight-loss strategies from Coach Dean
  • "Trim and Tone in 10 Minutes," an at-home winter workout from me, Coach Nicole. (I was flown to New York City for my first-ever professional photo shoot for this one. SO COOL!)
  • An inspiring story of online friendship featuring members who met at SparkPeople.com and later in real life, featuring BETH43, BUGMAMA42, GREENTREES76 and more
  • An excerpt from the Strong Start Guide of the new paperback edition of The Spark
  • Tips, mantras and advice from 19 more SparkPeople members sprinkled throughout
  • Plus dozens of other stories from the writers and editors of All You, such as a 4-week walking plan, reviews of the latest cardio dance DVDs, tips to end emotional eating, and strategies to indulge without blowing your diet!
While supplies last, you can get a FREE copy of this amazing issue when you purchase the new paperback version of The Spark (now less than $12 at amazon.com!)—the perfect combo of tips, resources and practical advice to start this year on the right foot!

We hope that you'll help us Spread the Spark by looking for this issue of All You on newsstands. If you can't tell already, 2011 is going to be a BIG year for SparkPeople. Thanks for your support!

Note: In some markets, you may see the following cover instead of the one pictured above:

Does anyone know how I could get my hands on a copy of the Special SparkPeople Issue of 'All You' Magazine? I know it came out a few years ago but I would really love to see it. Thanks, MarySparks2013

I went back to Walmart yesterday and found "All You". It was the February issue, though. I asked about the SparkPeople issue and they said they had never received it. Whatever happened, it seems to be fixed now. I am ordering extras of the back issue from "All You". Their number for back issues is 1-800-274-6800. - 2/11/2011   11:28:08 PM

I have been hounding the Walmart stores in my area (Pewaukee, WI) all month and have been unable to find the magazine. I have requested a copy from SparkPeople which is to be mailed to me. However, I think SparkPeople should know that there's a problem with distribution in some of the areas. I have even checked two Walmart stores in Milwaukee and they have never heard of it. - 2/10/2011   1:50:02 AM

All You is such an awesome magazine! I subscribe and sadly this special health & fitness issue is not included! I ran out to Wal-Mart and scooped up a copy and could not put it down! Way to go, SparkPeople & All You! Very informative & practical advice for "real, everyday" people!! - 1/21/2011   7:16:13 PM

I do read this magazine, about every other month. I love the clothing articles, fit for all shapes and sizes, and the recipes are terrific. @hippichick1, I work at WM, my home away form home, with a great group of fellow associates. I love my job (usually), and your claim re: unions is BS and uninformed. Anyway, I love the layout of All You and their reader involvement. The team-up with this realistic magazine and SparkPeople is perfect! Coach Nicole, you look awesome in your spread!! - 1/17/2011   6:48:40 PM

I was actually featured in the March 2010 issue for my weight loss. I had mentioned SP in my interview, but they publish just a tiny snippet in the magazine and that didn't make the cut.

It's a great magazine with wonderful information and lots of great coupons, too. - 1/17/2011   3:00:51 PM

There's two covers for this issue (one shown above and another with a red-haired lady wearing a blue top). This is an anwesome issue with lots of encouraging stories. - 1/17/2011   12:41:55 PM

I was waiting for my flight in an airport and found the new issue in the store by my gate! I read it from cover to cover on my 4-hour flight home and thought it was wonderful. It's definitely geared to women, though. SparkMen may be put off. - 1/17/2011   11:33:28 AM

OMG! All You is one of my favorite magazines. I love it because it relates to "real" people, not "plastic" people. If you've never read it before Sparkers, I would highly recommend picking up an issue.
I will definitely look for this one. Thanks for the info. - 1/16/2011   6:59:07 PM

Went to a Cincinnati Walmart on Saturday. They only had the Christmas Issue and January 21st issue. Looked through the January 21st and could find no Spark. Wish I could buy this at Barnes and Noble. - 1/16/2011   4:49:54 PM

I picked up the magazine yesterday afternoon and totally enjoyed my first skim through....now, I'm eating up every word! Of course since I'm here on SP every day there are some things that I've seen before but so much that seems new...I love reading the individual stories....Coach Nicole's workout in the mag is great! and the food articles make me want to get up and cook some tasty healthy food! Great magazine issue...Congrats Sparkpeople!! - 1/16/2011   9:11:21 AM

This magazine is how I found out about the Spark website. Order the Spark Book on Amazon for my Kindle and didn't get points either. Have just started reading and logging my foods so far so good!!! - 1/15/2011   9:39:38 PM

My goodness, buy it or don't buy it, but why do so many people have to use this as a forum to knock WalMart?! - 1/15/2011   9:27:15 PM

Isn't it wonderful that so many here can afford to NOT go to Walmart, they are doing so well financially apparently!! I participated in some kind of survey thing before "All You" began, they promised to have "regular" looking women in there, but when the magazine came out, they just had good looking chicks in there, and not even older women. So I didn't subscribe to it. I notice on the cover now, they want women to get "skinny", a term I find to mean, they want women to look as though they are 12 or 13 or "prepubescent" looking, in order to meet their ideas of "thin enough". So I still won't be buying the magazine. - 1/15/2011   9:00:08 PM
