Hello, SparkPeople! It's SparkGuy again. Wow, was it a busy week! I was in New York and Washington, D.C., for press tour to support The Spark, and boy, has it been exciting!

In addition to my meeting with Steve Case (AOL co-founder and a SparkPeople investor and friend), I had a whirlwind satellite media tour and meetings with my editor from Hay House, Patty Gift (below left), and our literary agent, Stephanie Tade.

You know how they say it takes a village to raise a child? Well, it takes a team--and a pretty incredible one at that--to put together a book. Along with the members and employees at SparkPeople, these women were a big part of the book.

Speaking of women who were a big part of the book, here's a photo of me and our president of publishing, Tami Booth Corwin, before I get ready for my close-up!

And, just for fun, check out these interview "prep" shot. This is definitely a new experience for me!

I did 19 satellite interviews in a row, to cities all over the country from Jacksonville, Florida, to Seattle, Denver, San Antonio, Columbus, and many other cities in between!

While in New York, I got an advance copy of a MAJOR magazine that has a cover story about SparkPeople-it'll be on newsstands next week, so I can't say much about it. (I'll blog about that next week.) I can tell you it's not People… that magazine ran a story about an incredible SparkPeople member this week! Here's a SparkPeople inside scoop: Another member is featured in the magazine on page 100. Sherry (MAZZY0774) is one the brides getting in shape for her wedding--and she's using SparkPeople as part of her program. Wish her the best of luck!

I really want to thank all of you for all you've done to help promote The Spark. This is my dream come true! Cheers!

It is sad to see the number of girls who lose weight for a wedding and then turn around and the first year they are married they pack it all back on and more. Releasing pounds needs to be for a Lifestyle and not an event. - 2/20/2010   5:10:30 PM

SparkGuy, you're doing an AWESOME job. Thank you from the bottom of my heart :) - 1/21/2010   7:27:15 AM

Chris, one thing I have to say, YOU ROCK!!! I love SP, and I am so loving the book. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you have done and continue to do to help everyone reach their goals. You are so amazing and inspiring!! - 1/13/2010   3:41:52 PM

Speaking of brides, we need some emoticons for brides and weddings. I am not personally in need of them, but I have noticed that there are no emoticons for that major life event!

We could also use some music notes. Can't think of any others at the moment, but I have thought of a few since I joined. Also we need a goodie that expresses "Thinking of you!", sort of like "Miss You".

I saw Good Housekeeping at the market this morning, but since I need to shop at Wal*Mart tonight I thought I would buy it there and save a few pennies!

    Thank You!
    Peace and Many Blessings!

Well what can I say to you Chris... (Spark Guy) everyone seems to have said what I think & feel already. You are one ''Special Person'' that deserves the very best in life as you have helped thousands if not millions of people to get on the ''Healthy Eating'' wagon & turn their lives around. ''Thank You'' doesn't seem to be enough to say, but I Pray for 'GOD'S' Blessings on you all each & every day. Continue with your 'Dream' this is only the beginning for you!! I am just a 'Newbie' joined in Nov '09, but so glad I did 'Thanks' again. It is a 'Fab' site!!
Blessings, Annie from UK. - 1/11/2010   6:41:30 AM

Standing in the checkout line at SuperWalmart tonight and I noticed the front cover of a national magazine mentioned free weight loss online program. Of course, I checked it out to make sure it was Spark People, and it was!!! Seems everywhere I turn these days all I hear or read about is losing weight/new you in 52. I am rebelling this year and refuse to make New Years resolutions! Getting healthier is a way of life for me, not a one year resolution. - 1/10/2010   8:54:26 PM

Thank you...Spark is so much more than just getting in shape...there are changes in confidence that come with loosing the weight and getting healthy. I've set a goal to do a marathon in 2010 something I would have never even thought possible when I joined last June....but since then I have finished a PhD program in pediatric neuropsychology when there where people in my life (now GONE) telling me I was too old and stupid to do so, I'm interviewing for residencies out of state when those same people said I was too cowardly to move to a city where I won't know anyone...Spark has been a life changing experience. Thank you. - 1/10/2010   2:28:34 PM

Thanks so much for starting this site. It has really motivated me to live a healthier life style. The book is an added bonus! There are several of us reading it at work and we plan to meet twice a month to have healthy lunches together and share successes and strategies. It will help to have all of us speaking the same language. - 1/10/2010   10:14:21 AM

I feel so proud to be a part of Sparkpeople and so proud of you. We know it has been hard for you to overcome your shyness and just look at you now! Can we get a woo hoo?! A primary reason Sparkpeople is--and The Spark will be--so popular is because you have put your heart in to it. It is real. Thank you and all the Spark staff for all you have done and continue to do. - 1/9/2010   4:47:04 PM
