Editor's Note: SparkPeople has partnered with ActivewearUSA.com, and we are part of an affiliate program with the company as well. Bloggers have received clothing free of charge to review.

We're back with another review of workout clothes from ActivewearUSA.com. I'm going to be honest: We've heard your complaints that the company doesn't have an expansive selection of plus-size clothing. They are working to expand that, and they are taking your feedback seriously. ActivewearUSA.com is a small company (just like SparkPeople) that is committed to healthy living, and they have some great new plus-size lines coming in 2012. We do apologize if some of these posts exclude some of you because of size limits, and we will be featuring some non-clothing (accessories and fitness equipment) soon!

ActivewearUSA.com is helping us to Spread the Spark by promoting SparkPeople on their site, too.

Today we're highlighting VATA Brasil, a company that sells a unique type of clothing: one size fits most.

They say: VATA Brasil is a unique line of active wear "Active WearEver" and inspired by Brasilian beach wear. Designed in Vancouver by a Brasilian designer and athlete (Ananda) and manufactured in Sao Paulo, Brasil. VATA Brasil helps you make the most of your active life, dresses you in excitement, outfits you with innovation, pushes you to greater performance and fills you with true Brasilian energy.

We say: If you're fit and petite, this is the line for you. I am 5'10", and many of the shirts were too short for me, as were the pants. However I did find an incredible pair of pants (#016) that are my new favorite comfy pants. They make my legs look a mile long!

We're sharing with you the best of the line today.

VATA Brasil Pants #016

Elongate your body in style. The adjustable wide waistband folds to a perfect waist height and the slightly flared leg makes this a must have garment.

One size fits all (sizes 0 - 12).
- Always smooth and pleasant to the touch.
- Breathable, wicks perspiration away from the skin.
- Assures proper muscle compression during physical activity.
- Won't lose its shape.
- Stretches up to 10x its' own size.
- Dries quickly, removing the unpleasant wet sensation.
- Maintains color vibrancy wash after wash.

We say: I loved these pants. They don't lie when they say you'll elongate your body. These were tight, in a good way. The fold-down waist meant I could adjust the waistline, which is important for someone my height.
However, I'm about a size 6-8, and I can't imagine these being comfortable if they had to stretch much more.

VATA Brasil Top #319
Wide racer-back design features straps that won't push, pull, or strain your neck. The front lining provides additional support and comfort. Ideal for the gym or strolling the neighborhood.

We say: This shirt, while short, was comfortable and great for yoga. It comes in a variety of colors and felt very flirty. I plan to wear it in summertime as a non-workout shirt, too.

Again, this is a line that is great for petites. And, with the stretchy fabric that really will fit a variety of sizes, you don't need to worry about sizing as long as you're smaller than a size 12.

While we're talking about petites, I want to mention two other brands we tested from ActivewearUSA.com. These brands were great for a petite frame. If you're under 5'6", these are great brands for you:

UpVibe: Direct from Brazil - Rio de Janeiro, Up Vibe brings a comfortable, stylish and (yes!!!) SASSY Fitness Wear to women all over the world. In a variety of colors and styles you will find the exact match with your lifestyle

Body Up Activewear: Body Up was established in 2003 with a mission of merging fitness and fashion apparel for a style that blends quality and function with style and elegance. To this end, the collection is both fashion forward and high performance; dressing a devoted clientele from the gym to the playground, a morning of errands to an afternoon amongst friends.

I got a pair of the shorts and they really were to large for me at 5' 107#. Yes they were really cute, and I got them on super sale from Kohls, but they were not THAT cute at $40 for a pair of shorts? I returned them. - 12/21/2011   1:32:24 PM

For those of us who want to save money as we work our way thinner to fit into the pricey higher quality fitness gear, I recommend my Old Navy foldover waist yoga pants, at size 20 and 5'11" I was in a Tall XL and actually managed to fray the back hem at the heels from walking in them, I love me some nice LONG pants for once! They fit well at the waist without drooping (at least until I grew out of them into a large), have the stretch factor for activity, make your butt and legs look great, and are sometimes on sale as low as 12 bucks. The black ones are going to fade after a bit from nice black to more of a charcoal colored black but the stretch never wore out on me. - 12/20/2011   1:43:00 AM

This line of clothing especially caught my eye because of the statement: 'If you're fit and petite, this is the line for you'. Being 5'3" I have trouble finding pants that don't drag on the ground so I checked these out. They are quite pricey, however, so we'll have to see if I actually spring for a pair! - 12/19/2011   12:41:38 PM

    WOW - these are pretty pricey! I can't afford $100 for a pair of yoga pants :( - 12/19/2011   7:20:09 AM

Reading these comments it seems that some people take it very personally that not all the items reviewed will be suitable for all members. If these items are likely not to fit, folks, just file it away as yet another experience to look forward to as you lose weight and gain fitness.

I, for one, am glad to see a variety of clothing lines reviewed and discussed and appreciate the comments that add to the discussion rather than focusing on the negative. Thanks, Grace, for mentioning the line that's made in the USA. I'm going to check them out. - 12/18/2011   7:02:38 PM

It just makes sense that MOST people who work out are smaller and in-shape, so clothes come in smaller sizes than PLUS. And when a PLUS size person starts to seriously work -out then they get into the smaller sizes. Just look at the Before/After pictures here in the success stories. - 12/18/2011   2:25:01 PM

A great place for made in the USA active wear with plus sizes is "sub4USA." I've ordered from this company for years, good customer service, and really good, long-lasting product. - 12/18/2011   10:45:20 AM

I agree with the above posts who would like to win larger sizes.
I weigh the recommended amount for my height but even if I got down to skin and bones, I would not fit into the "one size fits all" of UP TO size 12. - 12/18/2011   7:18:00 AM

I really dislike to the term "One size fits all", because for me it means it really doesn't fit me. This is the one problem I have with fitness clothing store they have and abundance of apparel for the slim physical fit and barely anything for plus size ladies. If they have apparel it's a very limited selection and not so attractive. Congrats to all the ladies that can enjoy the clothing line. - 12/18/2011   7:10:54 AM
