Happy fall, everyone! While it's still 92 degrees and humid here in Cincinnati, this weekend will mark the unofficial start of fall. Bring on the corduroy and boots, warm soups, and hikes through the leaves.

Chef Meg and I are cooking up (ha, ha) some fall recipes, but before we get started, we want to know what you like to eat when the leaves start to change.

What ingredients do you crave? What recipes are staples? What would you like us to create?

As soon as we turn off the air conditioning, I am going to make pumpkin gnocchi with a citrus-sage sauce. I'm excited just thinking about it!

What I love about fall is EVERYTHING. It's harvest season! I too love winter squash like pumpkin, acorn, butternut. I love fresh picked apples. I can't wait for the fresh brussels sprouts. But best of all is cranberries. In fact, I think I'm going to make some waffles and top them with cranberries for my second breakfast. - 1/1/2013   8:39:59 AM

Spices are what make Fall recipes distinctive--nutmeg tops the list but cinnamon, ginger and a pinch of cloves definitely mean Fall to me. - 11/9/2012   4:45:49 AM

Pumpkin spice everything! Most things end up being too many calories though, so while I may indulge in a pumpkin bread or pumpkin muffin once in a great while, I trick myself by brewing a teaspoon of pumpkin spice in my coffee. Just toss it in the grounds, and brew as normal. I sometimes spike it with pumpkin spice creamer, if I want to really feel like I cheated! :D - 9/30/2012   9:01:01 AM

Turkey Chili but, we eat it all year round and it is sooo good. I guess I think about squash in the fall. We have a great recipe from spark that Susie made over. It has Roasted Potatoes, Zuchinni, Peppers, Onions and when we don't have the Zuchinni we throw in the squash. It's wonderful but we eat that all year round also. - 9/19/2010   1:38:42 PM

Ahhhhh, Autumn. So many choices. Apples, grilled outdoors with a little cinnamon and agave syrup comes to mind as a favorite, but sweet potatoes linger also. I love acorn squash, excellent on the grill also. Hardy greens, kale, collards, mustards, make for wonderful, hardy Autumn soups and and while I don't particularly like pumpkin, the smell of pumpkin pie is probably my all time favorite Autumn smell - 9/8/2010   9:16:11 AM
