Giving Thanks from Your SparkPeople Family
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. ~John Fitzgerald Kennedy
In a few short days many of us will gather around the table with family and friends to give thanks for the many blessings bestowed on throughout the year. While today's Thanksgiving celebration is centered around mealtime, football games, parades and fun events, stopping to give thanks is still front and foremost for many of us.
Today's blog features quotes from our SparkPeople family to you as to what we are most thankful for. I hope you enjoy reading the quotes. While many of the names will be familiar with our members, we have many people behind the scenes who work diligently every day to give each and every one of you the ability to live the life you are meant to live.

"I have always been thankful for my parents who taught me about nutrition, gardening and the importance of family meals. At age 89, their mental and physical health is rapidly declining. However, on any day that I ask them..."Who wants to go for a walk?" Guess who is always ready to go--no matter what the weather? It is at a slow pace, about 1/2 mile in 30 minutes. I have taken this time to gather stories from their childhood and young adult life. Upon arriving home, I quickly write down my findings to pass onto future generations!"~ Dietitian Becky Hand
"I am thankful for finally getting to try fried turkey this year!"~ Wally Aboulhosn
"I am most thankful for my family - they are a constant source of love and support, and spending time with them is one of the ways I "recharge" when my energy tank is low."~Jeff Rezer

"This year, I am grateful for my healthy kids, my happy marriage, my parents who are active and healthy and my incredible in laws who are supportive. Grateful both my sisters are pregnant with healthy babies and that my almost 2 year old nephews latest biopsy showed zero rejection from the new heart he received last year!"~ Christine Brown
"This year I am most thankful for my network of friends and family. After losing two close family members and gaining a new set of family members when I married my husband last year, I've realized to never take your loved ones for granted because they are really all you can count on in life. I'm also very thankful that Ginger walked into our lives last year and has brought us so much joy and made running even more fun for me!"~Coach Nicole

Yes, I do find blessings in my life every day :) - 11/23/2011 4:43:25 PM
And, I'm very grateful to be a part of this enormous sparking energy. - 11/23/2011 10:30:48 AM
Now let me continue, as I said I am thankful for the people I spend my Thanksgiving day with, I am thankful for my ENTIRE family, I have my parents still alive, both 82, and 11 of 12 siblings here on this earth, spouses, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, numbering 72 in all with 2 on the way (that's all that I know of for now), I am thankful for my darling hubby, I said that, my sons, my beautiful daughter-in-law, and who in her denerosity has let me share in the lives of my first AND second granchildren because she had twins. I was born to be a grandma, I have felt it ever since my sons didn't 'need' me to be there for them all the time (they still need me sometimes though). My d-i-l let me sharee in my grandson & granddaughter's lives since day one! How cool is that! She is an AMAZING Mom my son, amazes me too, but they ask me and my husband to come stay with them when the babies were born for as loong as we could (we ended up staying for 2 months at THEIR request), I am thankful for my d-i-l's generosity for sharing her babies lives with me. While both sets of grandparents are retires and close to the babies, we get to visit and babysit regularloy as possible (considering it is 7 hours away), and they are coming here this Christmas so cool! The babies are just 1 and we skype nearly every week and now they laugh and giggle and wave to me, Nona and I couldn't be more blessed. I am thankful for my family and all I want for Christmas is my family and the fun of watching them open gifts and I will be happy, seriously. I want for nothing, except maybe some help in the kitchen.... - 11/23/2011 8:42:32 AM
I have met some great friends along the way as well, including Coach Nancy who I have ran with many times and I'm Blessed to call you a friend, Love ya! - 11/23/2011 8:07:53 AM
As someone who is part of the extended family of SparkPeople, I wish to say that I am recently thankful for the sharing and joy that has been brought into my life through doing the SparkLive! classes. I enjoy leading these classes so much, and am blessed to have been asked to be a part of this.
SparkPeople has changed my life in such a great way, and I'm so thankful that I had the courage to sign up so many years ago.

Thanks Spark People.Have a Happy Thanksgiving. - 11/22/2011 3:26:37 PM
This year I'm thankful for all of the above daily, and for my family, wonderful husband, for health insurance, and for my current ankle surgery. I'm thankful I will be able to do even more, physically, next year. And I'm thankful for my husband whose waiting on me and caring for me. He's very special. I'm thankful for all my successes this year with health and fitness, that I'm living my dreamboard/vision collage, and that I've accomplished many goals. I'm living my balanced, healthy lifestyle, and I love it. Thank you Sparkpeople for all you've changed in my life, all positive.
It's been a year filled with blessings! - 11/22/2011 1:29:01 PM
I am grateful that my husband works out with me when he can and that our boys enjoy going swimming with us every Friday. They have turned into quite the fish!!
I am grateful to have Sparked family and friends into action as well just by example - and many have signed up for SparkPeople too!!
I am grateful to have finally made myself a priority in my life - because if I don't take care of myself, I might not be here to take care of my loved ones.
Happy Thanksgiving Spark Family!!!
In Gratitude & Love,
Chrissi
