Congratulations!

Spring is just around the corner, which means that smoothie season is coming up! We can't wait to dust off our blenders here at SparkPeople and whip up our favorite warmer-weather concoctions. Is your blender in need of an upgrade after its winter hibernation? Well, you're in luck! We're giving away a Blendtec Total Blender Classic Series blender to one dailySpark reader.

Although this blender is a pro at making smoothies, it does so much more than that. Check out what Blendtec has to say:

"The Total Blender Classic Series® is an all-in-one appliance that makes smoothies, fresh juice, ice cream, milkshakes, cappuccinos, margaritas, soups, sauces, bread dough, dressings, salsas, and more! It replaces up to 9 other appliances with one fast easy-to-use machine, at a fraction of the cost. This package includes the new precision tuned 4" blade in the large, nearly 3-quart total capacity BPA-free jar, and the standard nearly 2-quart total capacity BPA-free jar. Two jars enable you to handle larger serving sizes for large gatherings. And the new precision tuned 4" blade / large jar combination powers through tougher blending tasks and larger recipes with ease in less time."

The weather is warming up. Getting to be time for strawberry bananna smoothies, and triple berry smoothies! My blender is 30 years old. I'd love to have a new one! - 3/10/2012   8:05:39 AM

I would love to win this. Isn't this the one that can blend metal in all those crazy ads my son showed me? I would use it for soups/ smoothies/ anything that needs blending. And it would be easier to get healthier foods in. With the second jar I could store stuff in the fridge for later that day or the next. - 3/10/2012   7:28:52 AM

Smoothies are awesome, and a good strong blender is very useful for making them. I hope I win this, but there is no way I'm paying $525 for a blender. I don't care how well it blends bananas and strawberries. - 3/10/2012   6:34:54 AM

I LOVE green smoothies, every day I try and have one for breakfast. With dark green leafies, a little banana and seasonal fruits, it really gets the veggies in and is very satisfying. Sadly I do not have and excellent high quality blend like a Blendtec (I wish I did) and its a bit chunky and I have heard the benefits are even better for your health. Please, please, please! - 3/10/2012   4:33:10 AM

Yes smoothies are great when you've got a GREAT blender. It's hard to say what my favorite is....kinda depends on the season. Recently (through the winter) one of my favorite has been to use it to process/puree steamed vegetables into a hearty soup base. The Sparkpeople Cookbook recipe for Slow-Cooker Vegetable Curry is excellent pureed and then add some cooked chicken or lean ham. Come summer though, I love to make salsas and smoothies. - 3/10/2012   12:01:07 AM

For the past month, smoothies have been an important part of my nutrition plan. Making them one at a time in my 20-oz capacity blending cup is ideal for plopping in the skim milks, pom-blueberry juice, plain yogurt, and pile of that day's selection of frozen fruits to make a meal-in-a-glass.

But... there are some great HEALTHY recipes for soups that if I had a larger blender would transform plain veggies and broths into 'creamy' seeming soups. Other recipes come to mind, but first and foremost, I would use that blender to expand beyond smoothies into soups, hummuses, and sauces that are nutrient-dense and low in calories and carbs! - 3/9/2012   11:56:12 PM

I am interested how strong this blender is, but at that price I don't dare try unless I win it. I've gone through several blenders over the years, I guess I just work them to hard making smoothies and such. - 3/9/2012   7:12:12 PM
