Short on time, but want an effective workout that will help you see results? The PACE Express 6-week workout may be just what you are looking for! The PACE Express workout will give you a full-body workout in just 12 minutes a day with no equipment needed. These high-intensity, short-duration workouts are very effective in working all of your muscles and because they are short, you don’t have to spend a lot of time in a gym doing exercises you don’t like. Learn more about what the DVDs are like!

What They Say:

“Your PACE Express package comes complete with six DVDs featuring six weeks of workouts (11 different workouts in all) with six 12-minute workouts on each disk. Each workout consists of three four-minute sets of exercises for a total workout time of only 12 minutes.

“The secret behind P.A.C.E. is its one-of-a-kind accelerating progressively that takes your fitness to the next level, regardless of your current fitness level.

Dr. Al Sears, MD developed the P.A.C.E. program with the assistance of Rob Iannuccilli, who leads the DVD workouts. Rob, PTA, CSCS, CP, has more than 20 years of experience in the fitness industry.

What We Say:

With Rob's education and experience, he is able to deliver a safe and effective workout for everyone. Each DVD includes six workouts, where you do one workout each day. After the sixth workout, you take the seventh day as a rest day, and then start the next DVD after your rest day. In each workout, Rob talks to you about the various exercises that you will be doing in that particular workout, while also showing you what it is and giving you instructions on proper form. I find this to be an extremely helpful feature of the workouts so you have an idea of what you will be doing and you can try to figure that out before you going full speed in the workout, not to mention that performing the exercises properly will keep you from injuring yourself.

Rob has four people working out with him on the DVDs, who each show different levels of the exercises. You will find that one person does a modified version of the exercises, another person does the advanced version, and Rob and the two others do the standard version. Rob makes sure to point out which person is doing which version so you know who to follow based on your level of fitness. I found this to be another great feature of this workout – all fitness levels can do it. What’s even better is that you can mix up whether you do the modified, standard or advanced versions of the exercises If you find a particular exercise too easy, you can do a harder version (standard or advanced) or if you find a particular exercise too hard, you can do an easier version (standard or modified). Also, as Rob points out in the workouts, this is about you and making the workouts work for you and your needs. The versatility of the PACE program is a definite plus, but it’s even better to have all three versions being exemplified in the DVD.

Once Rob is finished demonstrating and explaining the exercises to you, he has you take your heart rate. After you get that base heart rate, the workout starts and you will see a clock counter starting at 4 minutes for a countdown of that section. At the end of the 4 minutes, Rob has you check your heart rate again and tells you where it should be. He also tells you to take a longer break before starting up the next 4-minute segment if your heart rate is still too elevated (you can pause the DVD if this is the case). If your heart rate is where it should be, then you can move forward with the rest of the workout, which progressively adds more intensity. Each of the workouts are broken into three segments, and you want to keep in mind with how you are feeling during the workout because you are doing high-intensity exercises and want to make sure you aren’t overdoing it.

As mentioned above, you will have six days of workouts, and then take a day off. You would then start your next week DVD (there are six weeks’ worth of workouts), and starting with the week-2 DVD, you will find a new workout for one of your six days. While the PACE Express is a 6-week DVD set, you can continue using it for as long as you want. There is no need to purchase extra equipment either – you use just your body weight for all the exercises. Also, the moves are not complicated to learn, so that should not be a concern for those that think they have two left feet or have trouble with choreographed fitness videos.

Overall, this is an excellent full-body workout program that will get your heart pumping. Dr. Sears and Rob Iannuccilli did a great job putting together a safe and effective workout that many people can enjoy and see results in just 12 minutes a day.

You can purchase the PACE Express DVDs directly from their website or from amazon.com for $59.85. That's a great deal for so many workouts and far less than the cost of a gym membership!
