Music is important to many people. It can pick you up when you're feeling down, motivate you when you need a little push, and inspire you to go the extra mile during a workout. We love to share our favoriate workout music list suggestions here on dailySpark, and we frequently receive requests for Christian exercise music. So I've compiled a list of my top 100 Christian workout songs.

There are many genres of Christian music, and even if you don't consider yourself to be religious or spiritual, you may discover that in addition to "clean lyrics," many of these songs are uplifting and encouraging in both their titles and words, making them motivational for just about anyone.
Listening to uplifting music can help anyone feel better and more positive about life. It can provide motivation to move forward with your healthy lifestyle goals, too. So whether you are feeling depressed, stressed, discouraged, or angry, this list of songs with positive messages can turn your focus back on all that is good in your life.

I'd like to see religion kept separate from SparkPeople posts. This is not a Christian (or Jewish or Buddhist or whatever) site. While I appreciate that this works for some people, I think its place is in a specific Christian-based group on SP rather than general where everyone is exposed to it. - 9/21/2015   11:23:59 AM
I love these songs! Thank you for compiling them in one place. - 9/6/2015   12:15:21 AM

Taken a few hours longer than I thought it would take, but I think I have most all of these songs in "SP Christian Workout Music" playlist on Spotify (I use the free version).. Link is below. My playlist includes a few extra song that I remembered from other musicians that didn't seem to be represented here, like Hillsong (which I think is from Australia??). I don't know if this link works outside the USA, sorry about that - but if you can get Spotify in your country and the link doesn't work, then I guess you can look for me by user msdrpepper.

If it doesn't work here (I don't know if SparkPeople will let me add the html to make this clickable) then you may need to copy and paste... - 8/30/2015   10:00:02 PM

If they added more gospel artists to this list, people would have music to run and jump to. Let me suggest papa san, Isreal New breed. They have lively upbeat music, perfect for intense workouts. - 2/21/2015   9:29:03 AM

Great list!! I already have some on my playlist. I know others on here are saying "Why Christian Music", "Why call it this [if you are apart of another religion]", "Some of these songs are slow". If you actually go through these artist library of albums you will fine upbeat christian/gospel/worship music. It's just like any zumba classes or anything similar, your going to have warmup music, cardio music and cool off (slow) music. It's about finding what works for out. I do a mix of Christian/gospel with a little of inspiration music that other non-christian artist that get's me up and moving that pushed me to where I want to go. - 5/19/2014   4:43:41 PM

God's Not Dead by the Newsboys, anything by Demon Hunter, Skillet's Not Gonna Die, Red's Die For You and Breathe Into Me. - 3/13/2014   11:52:36 PM

For those who run..Thousand Foot Krutch has some good of their songs that is a great motivation when I run is called MOVE..and there are so many more by them..a little more on the heavy metal side. - 1/23/2014   5:11:41 PM
great list. I have quite a few and listened to others on ITunes. So great to find upbeat Christian music for workouts, my goal is to keep worldly music out of my playlists which can be a challenge especially for workout songs - 12/28/2013   4:19:37 PM
Great list, thank you for putting it together for those of us that wish to listen to Christian music. I appreciate the time it took you to do so..... - 12/17/2013   7:25:07 PM
Build Your Kingdom Here by Rend Collective is a good fast past song for brisk walking or running. - 12/17/2013   11:46:28 AM

    Great list!! Thanks!

I also really like Building 429's "Where I Belong". Some of it may be a little slow for working out, but the chorus is a good pace and the message is definitely so uplifting! - 11/24/2013   11:25:25 AM

This is great to list the songs like this, but is there a way to print them out? for me, it's easier to have a printed list and then go to iTunes, listen and purchase the tunes.

    thanks - 11/24/2013   10:33:32 AM

I have to agree I love the list but would also add KJ-52, and Family Force 5, Dc Talk, etc... Love Newsboys, Toby Mac, Mandisa, Natlie Grant, Mercy Me, Jeremy Camp, Katinas,....Love, Love, Love Christain music - 8/20/2013   8:00:37 AM
While I applaud the intent of this list, it's greatly lacking. These songs may be fine for someone who just walks or does light activity, but for someone like me who trains for half-marathons, these songs are too slow. Though I try to listen to only Christian music, for working out purposes, it's just not possible with mainstream Christian music. I really wish more artists would step up to the plate and make more engaging and lively music as opposed to just the bland music you hear on the radio nowadays. - 8/19/2013   12:43:02 AM

Thanks for offering these for those who prefer this type of music. MercyMe & TobyMac are two of my favorites. I'll show my age and add Petra to the list. No longer recording but you can find their music if you desire it. Blessings! Meg - 6/8/2013   11:40:42 PM
Thank you sooooo much. Many of us on this site do prefer religious music over worldly music. It gives something to everyone. - 6/6/2013   3:08:56 PM
This article is great. In my opinion one of the best music blogs around is artradio. The site contains a fantastic mix of quality music and artwork, it is definitely somewhere that I would recommend visiting. - 6/5/2013   11:31:21 AM

When I click on the Like button for facebook, an ad is in the way so that you have no choice but to click on it, or just forget the "Like". (Can you forward this to the appropriate person?)
EDIT: I see the "like" went through, at least. - 6/2/2013   9:07:45 AM

Thanks! I don't listen to the other types of music/songs that are typically suggested. If I am not listening to conservative talk then I listen to Christian music. Take care. - 6/1/2013   12:21:56 PM

Music definitely affects my mood. Lately, good songs have helped me do some digging out of my mental "hole". I'm thankful for music that can get to what's inside and speak to it in a way that other things or people cannot. - 5/25/2013   2:56:56 AM
